The following guide will cover the most popular commands on the Polycom VVX 310 handset.
Applicable Handset | |
Dialling Externally | Our previous telecoms system required prefixing external calls with a ‘9’. This is no longer required. To dial an external number, simple entered the number and lift the handset. |
Transfer Call (Announce caller before transferring) |

Transfer Call (Blind transfer) |

Cancel Transfer | Press the cancel button. The call won’t be transferred, and the call will resume. |
Transfer to voicemail | To transfer a call directly to a user’s voicemail:

Call Hold | Press the hold button (picture of handset and pause sign on the button) – to resume the call, press the button again. While on hold the caller will hear on-hold music/marketing message. |
Call Mute | Press the button with a microphone and line through it. This will illuminate while the call is muted. No on-hold music is played and you will still hear the caller. They cannot hear you when this is active. |
Loudspeaker / Handsfree Call | Press the button with the loudspeaker picture on it – this will illuminate. You can then use the phone in handsfree mode/loudspeaker. |
Missed Calls / Received Calls | To view the recent calls list from the home screen select directories and then select recent calls and it will |
Speed Dials | Each button on the phone can have a speed-dial allocated to it. The IT Services team can add these to your handset. Please email ITSupport@Minster.notts.sch.uk with the name and extension. |

Do Not Disturb | Select DND button on the handset. This will change the tick next to your extension number to a cross. The handset will not ring whilst in Do Not Disturb mode. Please select DND to take the handset out of Do Not Disturb. |
